Description

Bed & Breakfast and Self-Catered Chalet

La Bouclia is a beautifully appointed chalet for eight people situated in the ever-sunny Le Crêt area of Val d’Isère. Le Crêt is one of the most charming and romantic corners of Val d'Isère as it sits proudly at the entrance to the resort and consists of a group of exclusive residences and chalets. It is widely recognised as the sunniest part of the village due to its south- and west-facing aspect but also due to the fact sitting on a small hill above the valley floor.

Luxurious La Bouclia ski chalet is a stunning winterchalet and was completed in 2006 by the well known Remondet family. Access to the chalet is via a private road and approaching the chalet a quiet enclave opens to reveal the holiday home in the Three Valleys. This luxury skiing chalet benefits from the sun and receives abundant amounts of light through its wonderful living space into the early evening. Combined with the huge annual snowfall into the Val d’Isère area, the chalet really places itself well as a romantic and intimate option for family skiing holidays.

Ski chalet La Bouclia, sleeping eight people, is a spacious holiday chalet with a high spec finish and a twist of style. Huge arched windows and imported tile floors create a balanced, calming feel to the living and dining space. Four relaxing en-suite bedrooms can be found on the ground floor. The chalet is beautifully appointed and is spread across three levels with a fantastic open plan living and dining space on the upper level.

Ascending the stairs to the main living area reveals a double height bright and fresh space consisting of oversized traditional timber beams and white walls. The arching windows bathe the room in sunshine during the day and the tiled floor keeps a minimalist feel to the top floor.

The living space focuses around an inviting open fireplace with leather sofas and the dining area contains a large oak table. There is a large wall fitted television for watching movies and equally interesting would be the presence of a private chef - if required - in the fully fitted open-plan kitchen area.

Descending to the ground floor, wooden floors soften underfoot and an intimate feel is not compromised by the substantial en-suite bedrooms. All four sleeping areas spring from a central landing and provide open plan sleeping and bathroom living. All rooms can be configured as either queens or twins with two of the bedrooms benefitting from large west-facing balconies over the majestic Bellevarde mountain. The lowest floor contains a Moroccan style steam room which relaxes away the stress of the day.

Fortunately luxury La Bouclia chalet can combine good access to the slopes with quietness and exclusivity. Due to its flexible location the options for starting and finishing spots are greater within the French Alps ski resort of Val d'Isère and it's a 10 minutes walk from the town centre or a swift 5 minutes with the resort shuttle bus. La Daille is a 5 minutes' drive using the public shuttle bus.

Infos/Activities

Our luxury ski chalets in Val d'Isère are available catered and self-catered, for the best luxury ski holidays ever. Some are Ski in/Ski out and many have swimming pools, sauna, hammam and hot tubs. Val d'Isère is located only five kilometres from Italy, on the border of the Vanoise National Park, created in 1963.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISERE

The ski resort Val d'Isère in the Savoie region of France, is a colourful winter sports haven that began as a farm community in the years B.C. The town received parish rights in 1637 and the parish church, which is still a landmark in the town centre, was built in 1664.

The charming village finds its 1,800 residents outnumbered 15 to one by guests in winter. The western and central areas of Val d'Isère are most recognizable by their "chalet" architecture, while in the eastern part of the town high-rise architecture dominates the landscape.

Along with nearby purpose-built Tignes the area forms part of the Espace Killy, the self-titled "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". Named for Olympic hero Jean-Claude Killy, who grew up in Val d'Isère, Val is the better-known part of the skiing region and one of the best ski destinations in the French Alps.

The Val d'Isère village is long and thin at the bottom of a deep V-shaped valley. As you approach the resort you pass by Lac du Chevril, under which the old town of Tignes (sunk in 1952) is found. You then enter Val d'Isère via La Daille where the Olympic downhill run finishes. This is a very popular way for skiers to leave the mountain on Val d'Isère holidays, as it is directly below the greatest après ski party in France at Folie Douce. The ski down at closing time is riotous but only recommended for strong intermediates and above. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, as well as the usual winter fare.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISERE

The ski slopes themselves are equipped with a high-volume gondola, able to transport standing skiers, the funicular Funival from La Daille via a tunnel to the top of Bellevarde, traditional chair lifts - some with windshields and many detachable, button/disc-pulls - and tow-ropes. There are both groomed slopes and backcountry (off-piste) skiing. The slopes' difficulty levels are particularly high. However, as in Tignes there are grand, easy  pistes as well. It is first class off-piste country for powder addicts and there are many good guides available.
