Description

… distinctive, desirable and dressed to impress....

This private stand-alone villa, Baan Phulay, occupies an enviable location on a serene stretch of a white sandy beach. And, from the minute you arrive, you’ll be impressed by the incredible attention to detail.

An imposing, carved double door entrance in the surrounding wall is framed by two ornamental Buddha’s hands to welcome you. And, when those doors are opened, you’re faced with an astonishing view through the grounds of the villa to the ocean, taking in manicured gardens, stone pathways, water features, mature planting, the five pavilions that provide the living space and the stylish slate edged swimming pool along the way.

Standing in the entrance area you have the maid’s quarters to your left and a double driveway to the right. In front of those are two, two-storey buildings. After those are two further single storey buildings all creating an open central aisle that allows for the view directly through to the pool and the sea beyond.

The fine detail in the stone pathways, the planting of the garden and the ornamentation on the external walls gives an indication to the quality and thought that’s gone into this home. Once inside you’ll also see that every detail has been considered and catered for. In the first building, on the right, the down stairs has two double en-suite bedrooms, both dressed with fascinating furniture, accessories and artwork.

Silk throws and cushions; bohemian styled crocheted curtain tops; antique looking gold fans; high quality wooden furniture and TVs. In the en-suite bathrooms the details are even more striking. Each has stone covered walls, a wood-panelled rain shower with open wooden slats and an eye-catching ceramic sink unit sat on an elaborately tiled base.

A covered twisting wooden staircase leads upstairs to a relaxing area complete with comfortable seating and wooden doors leading to a double bedroom with a large sun terrace and an interesting en-suite bathroom. A four poster bed has a dressing area behind it and a huge, red wooden, Chinese style cabinet houses the TV. Polished wooden floors and a vaulted ceiling add to the style on show in this room.
Comfortable sun chairs are on the terrace and again the bathroom has some special features. A double sink unit, with brown ornamental ceramic sinks, stands out. But even this is overshadowed by the huge stone bathtub with wooden shutters that open to reveal the sea-view.

At the end of this pavilion is a terrace and a lotus pond that covers the width of the property with wooden terracing creating a bridge and pathway to an island sala feature, and over to the next building.
This has another exquisite bathroom with black slate shower and feature green ceramic sink; a stylish fully fitted kitchen; open plan dining area; and a comfortable lounge. Opening glass doors on three sides create the indoor/outdoor lifestyle.

Across the front of the property there’s a wide sun terrace with ample sun loungers; a large black slate edged swimming pool with Jacuzzi; outdoor shower; garden area and access onto one of the islands remaining unspoilt beaches.

Heading back to the entrance on the opposite side of the property, you have the master suite pavilion, with lounge area; four poster bed; dressing area; and a fantastic feature outdoor bathroom.

Crossing back over the water feature you come to the final pavilion and its terrace. On the ground floor is a family room with comfortable water-hyacinth and wood furniture and another superb bathroom. Wooden stairs lead you to a bedroom suite with a large sun terrace, a double bed, a feature vaulted ceiling and, as now expected, an exceptional outdoor bathtub and stylishly fitted en-suite bathroom.

This is an outstanding, spacious, five-bedroom villa with superb facilities in an idyllic peaceful location. But it’s the dressing that really separates this from other villas. Unique bathrooms made out of natural materials; slippers lined up outside the rooms; umbrella stands with sunshades; high quality furnishings; carefully selected ornaments and artwork; and the use of colourful silk accessories.

Incredible attention has been shown in every room, and outdoor area; even visible roof areas have been dressed with pebbles and bamboo to ensure that every angle is pleasing to look at.

Koh Samui is the island of thousands of coconut trees and the third largest island in Thailand. It is located in the Gulf of Thailand, 700 km South of Bangkok. There is a 55 kilometer long ring road on the island which makes it convenient to travel from beach to beach.

Well known beaches are Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut, Big Buddha, Choeng Mon, Hua Thanon and Maenam. Samui do also has many sister islands; Koh Tao (top diving destination in Asia), Angthong National Marine Park, Koh Tan and the spectacular Koh Nang Yuan.

The airport on Koh Samui was built in 1989 and it was renovated in 2007. It is often considered as one of the most beautiful and exotic airports in the world. The most popular beach on Koh Samui is Chaweng and it is located on the island's east coast. If you enjoy beach activities, there is no problem to engage in jet ski riding, banana boat riding, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing or parasailing. It is also possible to rent a kayak or a canoe.

Lamai beach also offers a variety of water sports including jet ski, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, parasailing and you are also able to rent a motorboat for a private tour. Bo Phut beach is about three kilometers long and has a relatively fine-grained sand and coconut palm trees at it's side. Here you'll get a superb view overlooking Koh Phangan and the Gulf of Thailand. It is possible to rent water activity gear here.

Maenam Beach: This beach is an excellent holiday destination if you are traveling with children or if you just want to just relax.

Dining on the Islands: On this island you will of course find the traditional Thai food, not rarely with a noticeable curry and chili sting. We recommend you to try a snorkeling trip to Angthong National Marine Park or a weekend on the beautiful island of Koh Tao.
