Contemporary Luxury "THE CHEDI Andermatt"

Published on 23/11/2014 by Finest Holidays - Luxury Travel

Finest Holidays is delighted to offer hotel and apartment accommodation at the exciting new THE CHEDI Andermatt complex, with its 105 guest rooms and suites, in the exclusive Swiss Alps of Andermatt.

Combining traditional materials with the most modern luxury facilities, THE CHEDI Andermatt, blends in beautifully with the natural splendor of the Ursental Valley and stands out for its state-of-the-art dining, spa and shops. Winter sports are on your doorstep and in the summer a 72-hole championship golf course is just one of the attractions of Chedi Andermatt.

Alpine style means wood, and lots of it. The traditional chalet-style of the exteriors is echoed and updated inside, where clean, modern lines and natural materials – wood, fur, stone – tastefully turn expansive interiors into beautifully-furnished, welcoming relaxation spaces.

It not only looks wonderful, THE CHEDI Andermatt also provides the sort of facilities that luxury travelers demand.

The Spa is 2,400 square meters of concentrated wellness expertise. The concept is holistic. Therapists and trainers are on hand to design individual treatment programs that make the most of the stunning surroundings, including 10 individual spa suites.

There are bio and Finnish saunas, a scented salt steam bath, hot and cold plunge pools, a North African-style hammam, ice fountain, flower bath and an outdoor pool. If all this feels a bit indulgent, don’t worry, you can work up a sweat on the very best gym equipment before you cool off body and mind.

You can swim indoor and out at THE CHEDI Andermatt. Both pools – 35 meters indoors – come with towels, the best bathing and beauty products, reading material and light refreshments.

There’s more indulgence in the dining rooms. Four kitchens specialize in cold cuts, desserts and western and Asian cuisines. The Japanese restaurant by 2010 Global Chef Award-winner Hide Yamamoto, offers a haven of privacy with just 46 seats.

If you just fancy a drink, head for the Wine and Cigar Library, a walk-in humidor filled with the world’s best vintages and smokes.

For the socially inclined, the Lobby, a step away from the Library, pool, Bar and Spa, is a place to mingle and enjoy light meals or afternoon tea.

The Bar and Living Room is more relaxed still. Light local cuisine is the perfect accompaniment to war stories from the slopes or planning the next day’s adventures with THE CHEDI Andermatt’s ski butler.

The Courtyard, tantalizing viewed from the Library, is a welcoming outdoor space in both winter and summer – spectacular fires bring warmth to the terrace and pond. The backdrop of the Gemsstock Mountain – at nearly 3,000 meters, a wonderful skiing experience – couldn’t be more perfect.

There’s a reason all this is here, and it’s for the impressive slopes that tower around the hotel.     Nätschen to the north-east and the Gemsstock to the south are part of SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun. Currently there are 30 ski runs and more than 100km of pistes with 20 transport facilities, seven chair lifts, two aerial cableways and 11 ski lifts. There are exciting plans for expansion of this ski area, so keep an eye out for the latest new facilities.

The ski area’s slopes provide a great mix of skiing experiences for beginners to experts. You’ll also find tobogganing, snowshoe paths, boarding, ice skating, climbing, off-piste skiing, terrain parks and cross-country skiing. In winter and summer, the mountains are a wonderful hiking environment. The Glacier-Express railway, a steam train and carriage rides are just three more ways to enjoy these wonderful Alpine passes.

Andermatt is just 90 minutes’ drive from Zurich airport or two hours from Milan. A private airfield at Buochs is 45 minutes away. The Glacier Express arrives in town several times a day, about two hours spectacular travelling from Zurich or three-and-a-half from Milan.

Finest Holidays are proud to be offering our clients the chance to enjoy this fantastic new luxury Alpine experience .
