Andermatt

Luxury Hotels Andermatt

Experience an unforgettable holiday in the Andermatt region in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The five-star resort is in the heart of the Swiss Alps and is accessible via three Alpine passes: the Oberalp Pass to the east, the St. Gotthard Pass in the south and the Furka Pass in the west, while the Schöllen gorge is in the north. Andermatt has been a popular year-round holiday destination for the last 100 years.

The local people are known to be very friendly and welcoming. With many lakes and great hiking trails, in summer Andermatt is a paradise for hikers, bikers, nature lovers and relaxation. Those seeking classic car adventures are spotted on the weekends driving on the famous passes around Andermatt in their shiny vintage cars. The 25 sparkling alpine lakes provide the perfect escape from the heat.

The 18-hole par 72 championship golf course designed by architect Kurt Rossknecht is open to guests and is situated just minutes from The Chedi Andermatt. The course is perfectly embedded into the high alpine landscape, offering stunning views and the added value of high altitude helping golf balls to travel further and higher than when playing at sea level.

The Golf Club House, designed by architect Kurt Allen, Berner GmbH opened in Spring 2013.

Swiss Golf Touring Pro, André Bossert, took on the role of the ambassador and advisor to the tournament standard golf course.

Andermatt is surrounded by the Swiss Alps, sporting the ideal snowy conditions for winter sports enthusiasts. The valley is perfect for sports such as skiing, cross country skiing, curling and ice-skating, as the cable car in Andermatt takes skiers and snowboarders up Gemsstock Mountain to nearly 3,000 metres, a real paradise for free riders while families can enjoy skiing on the sunny slopes of Nätschen. The Sedrun Andermatt Sports AG and renowned Swedish Ski Star AB resort operators are developing the Andermatt-Sedrun ski area to open up over 120 new slopes.

The new Andermatt-Sedrun ski area will include 24 constructions, two aerial tramways, a combined lift, four gondolas, eleven chair lifts and six ski lifts. Thus, the skiing will become the most extensive of its kind in central Switzerland.
