Description

Chalet Hirvi is a luxury self-catered ski chalet in Megève with instant access to the ski runs. Holiday home Hirvi, in the Rochebrunne area, offers ski in/ski out access to the green Capucine piste which leads to the Rochebrunne gondola. This makes Chalet Hirvi an excellent choice for a ski holiday, as it affords the highly sought-after and yet rare direct access to the slopes in the winter sports domain of Megève. Car-free Megève village centre - where romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides can be enjoyed instead - is only a 10- minutes drive.

Even though chalet Hirvi is organized over merely two floors, there is no lack of space given its footprint of 460 square metres. With a total of 6 bedrooms, there is enough sleeping accommodation for up to 16 people. The bedrooms are on the ground or garden level. With the exception of the children's room with 3 bunk beds and a twin room, these are doubles. All bedrooms are set up in a refined style and have sleek en-suite facilities, either with a bath or shower. The 46-square-metre master suite's bathroom has a freestanding bathtub and an Italian style shower. Apart from the children's dormitory and the twin room, there is direct access to the garden.

When moving up to the second level, guests are welcomed to a freeflowing impressive living area styled by Paris-based interior designer Charles Zana. With one side of the space dominated by immense bay windows and sliding doors leading onto a wide balcony, the entire floor appears light and airy despite the beautifully wood-panelled walls and towering wooden ceilings.

The grand lounge, where a gorgeous open fireplace with massive granite base draws everyone's attention is filled with designer furniture of the highest quality. Throughout the expansive room, there are various generous seating arrangements, side tables, leather-covered armchairs reminiscent of director's chairs and modern desk and floor lamps are placed throughout. Relax by the warming fireplace with the family and talk about your day on the slopes, preferably with an excellent wine.

Somewhat hidden at one end of the living room is an intimate sitting area with a cross-corner sofa in which a TV screen is set into the wooden wall. Tucked away around the corner from the dining area resides the spacious, fully equipped Gaggenau kitchen, which fits smoothly into the rooms sophisticated modern and yet traditional chalet style. The large rectangular dining table, which seats 10, is right in front of one of the large sliding glass doors, so that after dinner guests can wash down a final drink outside. Another very convenient feature is the wine fridge, which is built into the wall facing the dining table.

To unwind after a day outdoors, luxury chalet Hirvi offers a spa and relaxation area on the lower ground floor. Here guests can soak into the sunken hot tub or warm up in the hammam. To freshen up slip under the wellness shower before heading to the air-conditioned fitness room. Once the spa session is finished, comfortable loungers await to stretch out on. The state-of-the-art cinema room, also located on the lower ground floor, offers the option of sitting either on a chaise longue lower down or on a large sofa a bit higher up in front of the big screen, just like in a real cinema.

Further benefits of Chalet Hirvi include a ski room big enough to store snowsports equipment and lots of winter gear, laundry facilities and garage parking for 4 cars. Finally, for larger groups preferring to spend their luxury Megève ski holidays together, neighbouring Kantaa chalet can accommodate 8 adults and 6 children.

Infos/Activities

The Megève mountain resort is situated at 1,115m above sea level. The charming Alpine town is part of the Évasion Mont Blanc region with stunning luxury chalets for rent, catered and self-catered. Many have a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and gym, for the very best luxury ski holidays.

With its traditional rustic atmosphere and authentic medieval architecture, it seems that Megève has always existed up there, just like the fascinating mountain scenery of smooth pastures, mystery-green forests and stunning heights all around. Megève is like a fairytale picture of old times. Narrow streets and old buildings form its enchanting medieval centre; the pedestrian zone with the horse-drawn sleighs and carriages passing only add a magical touch, almost imaginable serenity of a trip into history.

But still, the town offers infinite range of entertainment, so tourists can enjoy after returning from back-in-time. Megève at night is an experience you should not miss. 9 discos and plenty of clubs and bars create the special lively atmosphere of the nocturne town. There is a casino for those who feel "lucky tonight" and a prefect selection of various restaurants for those who prefer nice food and fine wines! In fact, Megève is known as one of the most valuable gastronomic stops of the Alps and a famous French culinary spot. During the day you could enjoy the majestic mountain landscapes from the terrace of a café, or take a traditional lunch in a cosy bistro in the medieval heart of the town.
