Description

Chalet Valentine’s imposing size and wonderful location already made it a must-see for anyone planning a trip to Méribel. Its 2017 renovation lifts this seven-bedroom luxury chalet to another level of excellence, with high-tech extras everywhere you look, wellness facilities, and stunning interiors. Fourteen guests can stay in Chalet Valentine, enjoying one of the best locations on the mountain in the wooded outskirts of the village on Route du Belvedere, 100 meters off the piste and a quick ski from the Le Rhodos lifts. This secluded five-story chalet has skiing and socializing on the doorstep or a chauffeur-driven ride away while guaranteeing your privacy and security (included in the catered price).

Space and light are the dominating themes of Chalet Valentine, and it’s obvious as soon as you enter through your ski room or private garage and climb into the lift to go upstairs that this is a very special mountain chalet. On the first floor you’ll find the wellness area, including a full hammam - a North African steam room - and a treatment room where you can enjoy relaxation and beauty treatments from visiting therapists. The wellness offering continues outside, where a barrel sauna and a huge hot tub are features of a large first-floor terrace. Back inside guests can take a trip to the movies in a home cinema room - with Apple TV, British, Russian and French satellite channels, and a large collection of DVDs.

The latest electronic entertainment systems are on hand wherever you go in Chalet Valentine, including an integrated sound system. You’ll find two bedrooms on the first floor, both with access to the hot-tub terrace. They are twin/doubles, one with en-suite bathroom, while the second is served with an en-suite bathroom and shower room. There is also a shower and a WC in the spa suite. The heart of Chalet Valentine is on the second floor, home to the open-plan living and dining area. In the best Alpine tradition these spaces make a virtue of the stunning surroundings. Huge windows open up views of the Alps and let sunlight come flooding in. The perfect end to your day might be spent on the terrace where a fire pit is a natural centrepiece for a really impressive outdoor space that has more than enough room for socializing or al fresco dining under the stars.

More formal meals can be enjoyed in the dining area, where food is served on a large antique table from a private kitchen. The décor here is relaxed and inviting, designed to make you feel at home, it majors in soft fabrics, warm wood and stone, and carefully chosen antique pieces. Art that celebrates the golden ages of winter sports help keep the focus on the mountain environment. There is also an en-suite double bedroom on the second floor. The third floor is home to two beautiful suites, with a family combination that combines a twin/double room with a bunk room and a bathroom. Even more impressive is the master suite, with its own private balcony.

A well-stocked library in the mezzanine level overlooking the main living room is a place to relax and turn off, while keeping in touch with the main living area below. The sleeping accommodation is completed on the top floor with an en-suite twin room. You can park indoors and out at Chalet Valentine. Two staff can live in their own quarters on the first floor, and when booked catered, the chalet comes with a driving service.

Beginner's will find that Méribel is a great place to learn to ski, with a gentle nursery slope through the forest reserved especially for first timers. Then you can progress onto the green slopes of the altiport. The Méribel valley is in the centre of all the action. At the head of the Méribel valley you'll find Mont Du Vallon, at a height of 2,952m, the views are stunning and the ski down even more so.

The valley contains the DC and Moon Park, two of the best snowparks in Europe. With a beginner jump line, to a superpipe, and everything in between. Méribel has much more to offer - mysterious and beautiful forests, wooded chalets and sumptuous panoramas. Méribel Les Allues, normally just referred to as Méribel, is nothing less than a combination of elegance, tradition and modernity. A must: Take the Olympic chairlift and enjoy the the most beautiful panoramic views in Les Trois Vallées from the Roc de Fer peak: a 360 degree sweep over the summits of Mont Blanc, Pierra Menta, Grande Casse, Dent de Burgin, Les Ecrins, Les Aiguilles d’Arves… and a large part of Les 3 Vallées ski area!
