Description

Chalet Angelus 2 is a luxury chalet in Val d’Isère, set within the atmospheric Vieux Village where stone façades, lantern-lit paths, and alpine heritage create a sense of quiet authenticity. Just 150 metres from the slopes, this semi-detached alpine retreat offers effortless access to the Val d’Isère-Tignes ski area while keeping guests close to the resort’s cafés and boutiques. With 350sqm of elegant interiors, this family chalet sleeps ten adults and four children across six en-suite bedrooms, making it an exceptional home away from home for a ski holiday in the French Alps.

The top floor living and dining area is shaped by soft light, timber beams, and a palette that feels warm and serene. Sliding doors open onto a south-facing terrace where mornings begin with a steaming cup of tea or coffee as the mountains brighten. After a day on the slopes, the room becomes a glowing refuge, the fire crackling. The semi-open kitchen and breakfast bar allow the private chef to work with gentle discretion while your group gathers for delicious dinners washed down with champagne.

Across two peaceful levels, the chalet’s six bedrooms offer comfort and flexibility. On the ground floor, two double or double/twin rooms feature en-suite shower rooms and terrace access, while a charming bunk room with four beds and its own bathroom provides a welcoming space for younger guests. Upstairs, the master suite and two further double bedrooms each include an en-suite shower room and separate WC. Natural materials, soft lighting, and thoughtful details create a sense of calm after skiing adventures.

The wellness area invites deep restoration. The indoor swimming pool with counter-current system offers a soothing embrace after an exhilarating day on the slopes, while the traditional sauna and massage room provide space for slow, replenishing moments. The cinema room becomes a velvet-dark hideaway for slow  evenings, blankets pulled close, laughter echoing softly. Ideal for games, simply settling in with a hot chocolate and, of course, watching the latest films as snow drifts outside. This ski chalet is designed for unhurried pleasure.

Chalet Angelus 2 blends alpine authenticity with understated luxury, supported by a ski room with boot warmers, laundry room, elevator, garage parking, and discreet in-resort assistance. As a catered chalet, it offers seamless comfort for families and friends seeking a refined alpine retreat. With its privileged location, elegant design, and welcoming atmosphere, this luxury chalet in Val d’Isère is a place where winter days feel luminous, intimate, and beautifully memorable. Chalet Angelus 2 is nothing less than the place to be for ski holidays in the French Alps.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère’s charming village is a colorful winter sports haven, originally founded as a farming community centuries ago. Today, the village is home to around 1,800 residents, but during winter, this number swells to more than 30,000, thanks to the influx of skiers and visitors. The western and central parts of the village are easily recognizable for their classic chalet-style architecture, while the eastern part features modern high-rise buildings.

Historically significant, Val d'Isère received parish rights in 1637, and the parish church, built in 1664, remains a landmark at the heart of the village. Together with the nearby resort of Tignes, Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy, an area famously dubbed the "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". The resort is set at the base of a V-shaped valley and is accessible via La Daille, where you’ll pass by the Lac du Chevril. Beneath the lake lies the old town of Tignes, which was submerged in 1952 to create the new dam.

One of the highlights of a Val d'Isère ski holiday is the après-ski experience, particularly at Folie Douce. Located at the top of the ski slopes, it’s renowned for its vibrant après-ski parties. A ski down from the venue, directly into the village, is an exciting way to end your day, although it’s only suitable for strong intermediates and above due to its steepness.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère is a paradise for skiers of all levels, offering a mix of groomed slopes and backcountry skiing. The resort is known for its challenging slopes, making it a favorite among experienced skiers and powder addicts. Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy ski area, which links Val d'Isère and Tignes, offering over 300km of ski slopes. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, and the area is serviced by high-capacity gondolas, chairlifts, and even a funicular (the Funival), which takes you from La Daille to the top of Bellevarde.

Whether you’re looking for easy, wide pistes or steep, off-piste terrain, Val d'Isère caters to all types of skiers. The main lifts and gondolas offer convenient access to the area’s best slopes, and the ski area is equipped with four snow parks and extensive cross-country trails.
