Cortina d'Ampezzo

Luxury Ski Chalets Cortina d'Ampezzo

With Spa

Cortina d'Ampezzo is the leading resort of the Dolomite Region; in fact, the leading resort in the Italian Alps. Stylish, chic, and located in a magnificent mountain range, whose summits are crowned by dramatic rock formations, this historic village has turned into one of the classiest and costliest of all European ski resorts. Discover our luxury catered and self-catered chalets in Cortina d'Ampezzo. They offer swimming pools, hot tubs, cinema- and steam rooms and much more.

For blue bloods and just plain rich Italians, Cortina has long been the resort of choice, so this is the place where you'll see furs and Ferraris, Rolexes and Maseratis. Even if the town is crowded, the slopes might be relatively empty, because nearly three-quarters of the winter guests come for clean air, sunshine, and shopping rather than skiing. In lively Cortina, dining, shopping, walking the poodle, or languishing over an espresso is as much a part of the scene as skiing and snowboarding.

Cortina is a wonderful resort in the heart of the Dolomites with the most dramatic scenery. There is a good quantity of well-maintained slopes; marvellous nursery slopes, good long runs for intermediates and access to the vast Dolomiti Superski area which offers 1,200km of pistes.

Since the 2019/20 ski season there's a new 10-seater - replacing a 50-year-old cable car to reach the Tofana-Socrepes area with 47km of pistes. The Faloria-Cristallo area with 44km of pistes can be reached by a two-stage cable car. You also have easy access by bus or car to the Cinque Torri-Lagazuoi - 17km distance to Cortina - with 29km of runs.

RESTAURANTS & BARS

Chef Gaspari, who worked as a ski instructor until his knee injury, is at the helm of SanBrite, opened 2017 in a former converted tractor garage. At the hob of this one Michelin star restaurant, where warm wooden interiors and pleasant mountain views offer the perfect backdrop for a symphony of earthly flavors, he expresses his creative side and takes the freedom to do things differently. He always incorporates the scents of the forest into his plates, combining Italian specialities such as lardo and spaghetti with honey and mountain pine oil giving them a surprising twist. As SanBrite translates „healthy pasture“, the desserts lack extra sugar.

Those who want to escape the glamour of Cortina and experience the tranquillity of a "baita" (mountain hut) for a change, will definitely appreciate Baita Piè Tofana. Revisited with a contemporary spirit, the restaurant is a piece of history of both Cortina and the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to lovers of cuisine, wine and the mountains. Situated on the slopes of the Tofana di Mezzo mountain range, at 3,244m the Dolomites third highest peak, directly opposite the ski area, the typical and romantic mountain hut has a contemporary yet traditional feel - a harmonious combination of styles which also features in the cuisine. The modern dishes are often cooked over the barbecue grill (in summer and winter alike) and prepared from local ingredients.

One of the restaurant’s more original tables, the „Larin“, is built around the open fire, creating an exclusive space to enjoy with friends. The terrace is a great spot to take in the splendid views. From here, snow enthusiasts follow the paths of skiers on the Vertigine, Labirinti, Canalone, Olympia and Rumerlo slopes, famous for the Alpine Ski World Championships. Baita Piè Tofana is a paradise right in the very centre of the ski area that will host the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
