FOOD
A variety of dining venues caters for every taste, every inclination, every occasion. Nowhere is the art of slow practiced with such exquisite refinement as it is in our restaurants, by our patrons. Wherever you choose to dine, nibble or quaff, the simple magic of exquisite ambience adds to the pleasure. As with every aspect of the Arabella experience, our food offering comes with generous portions of delectable view on the side.

The enjoyment of great wine and delicious food, prepared with passion, skill and an abundantly fresh harvest of fresh local ingredients from land and sea, keeps serious foodies on our list of regular clientele.Première Restaurant at the Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa launched the Wine and Dine Dialogue evenings to be held once a month until April 2009.

On 11 October 2008, chef Warwick Taylor prepared a superb 5 course meal including a slow roasted duck main course with saffron buttered apple, and maldon chocolate torte with champagne truffle for dessert. Each course was accompanied by fine wines represented by wine makers Rolf Zeitvogel from Blaauwklippen Vineyards and Gordon Newton Johnson from Newton Johnson Wines. The monthly gourmet event aims to showcase wines from two different wineries in the Overberg and Stellenbosch wine regions, which will be complemented by the exquisite 5-course meals for which the Première Restaurant is known.

Wine and Dine Dialogue evenings will offer an interactive experience during which the winemakers will explain the history of the wine, the type of grape used and the reason for the pairing of the wine with that specific course. Future events will portray wine farms such as Hamilton Russell, Fleur du Cap, Groote Post, Hermanuspietersfontein and Raka.

The Première Restaurant offers a fine dining experience in an interior that invites the spirit of the Bot River Lagoon inside, with hints of sand and hues of blues, greens and silver. A cast-glass sculpture of two schools of fish darting across the wall adds to the ethereal ambience. To ensure a ceaselessly surprising standard of excellence, the menu is in constant evolution, changing to reflect the seasons and the best available produce of the day.

The restaurant received a Platinum award in the annual Diners Club Best Winelist Awards and is one of very few restaurants accredited to sell farmed abalone – an exquisite delicacy harvested locally.Blaauwklippen, a historic wine farm situated in Stellenbosch, recently received a gold medal and trophy for the Laker & Le Roux Most Innovative Wine On Show, as well as silver medals for the 2005 Blaauwklippen Zinfandel and the 2007 BVS Viognier Noble Late Harvest, at the prestigious Michelangelo International Wine Awards.

Newton Johnson is situated in the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde valley, overlooking Walker Bay. The valley has become one of the premier wine areas in the Cape, focusing on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc.Wine and Dine Dialogue evenings at the Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa offers a 5 star meal and the best of Overberg and Stellenbosch wines in an ideal setting.
