Chalet Arosa has a unique location in the pretty and sun-drenched corner of the main village of Val d’Isère. The mountain chalet is wonderfully located amongst the larch forest and delivers a private and exclusive feel for its visitors. The holiday chalet is spread over four floors and 200sqm of living space. In four of the generous en-suite bedrooms, the double beds can be replaced with two singles to accommodate almost any group's requirements. Climbing the small often very snowy track, and rounding the final corner beneath the chalet, Arosa reveals its spectacular aspect on the mountainside. If you are looking for a chalet with a privileged location overlooking the valley, and if sunshine is important to your holiday, then Chalet Arosa surely is a great option.

Situated in the beautiful Le Crêt area of the main village, it occupies a location that is drenched in sun more than anywhere else in resort. Nestled between the vanoise pine trees and the valley floor this property has some of the most spectacular views in resort, from the Manchet valley, Solaise and Bellevarde mountains, down to the o.k. world cup downhill piste. Access to the village centre is very simple, it's an easy nine minute walk, or you can relax and take advantage of the luxury 4x4 driving service available to all guests - we can whisk you there in three minutes. A distinct advantage to the location of chalet Arosa is that you are situated close to a number of different home runs, so wherever you decide to stop you are close to home.

The chalet Arosa provides an authentic and rustic mountain feel without losing touch of its contemporary styling. The architect and the chalet builders are local to the village and really excelled in using traditional techniques and materials to deliver a property that not only compliments the surrounding mountains with its stone and wood finish, but also gives a warm and light interior. Situated over four levels, the entrance leads to a ski room and seating area to change your boots and quickly ascends to the first main floor. On this level there are four configurable king or twin en-suite rooms, two of which have balconies with impressive south- and west-facing views to catch the evening sun. A relaxing massage room can be found on the first floor where a number of different treatments from one of our massage partners can be chosen.

Moving up to the next floor is the main living space - the lounge space is double height with large windows to the west and south delivering huge amounts of sun during the spring months. A large oak savoyard table seats ten people and is located close to the kitchen. Leading out onto the decked balcony, where you can access the very private outdoor hot tub. It sits amongst the pine trees and the resident black squirrels, and it's hard not to instantly relax overlooking the resort. Up from the living space is a mezzanine area which is a popular TV viewing snug.

In the pretty and sun-drenched hamlet of Le Crêt. Almost directly between the Bellevarde/Solaise ski lifts and the lifts in La Daille so you can start or end your skiing in different locations. Each of these ski lifts is approx. 15 min. on foot and the efficient ski buses run regularly throughout the day and evening. Val d'Isère centre is a 10 min. walk

Val d'Isère is located only five kilometres from Italy, on the border of the Vanoise National Park, created in 1963.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISERE

The ski resort Val d'Isère in the Savoie region of France, is a colourful winter sports haven that began as a farm community in the years B.C. The town received parish rights in 1637 and the parish church, which is still a landmark in the town centre, was built in 1664.

The charming village finds its 1,800 residents outnumbered 15 to one by guests in winter. The western and central areas of Val d'Isère are most recognizable by their "chalet" architecture, while in the eastern part of the town high-rise architecture dominates the landscape.

Along with nearby purpose-built Tignes the area forms part of the Espace Killy, the self-titled "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". Named for Olympic hero Jean-Claude Killy, who grew up in Val d'Isère, Val is the better-known part of the skiing region and one of the best ski destinations in the French Alps.

The Val d'Isère village is long and thin at the bottom of a deep V-shaped valley. As you approach the resort you pass by Lac du Chevril, under which the old town of Tignes (sunk in 1952) is found. You then enter Val d'Isère via La Daille where the Olympic downhill run finishes. This is a very popular way for skiers to leave the mountain on Val d'Isère holidays, as it is directly below the greatest après ski party in France at Folie Douce. The ski down at closing time is riotous but only recommended for strong intermediates and above. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, as well as the usual winter fare.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISERE

The ski slopes themselves are equipped with a high-volume gondola, able to transport standing skiers, the funicular Funival from La Daille via a tunnel to the top of Bellevarde, traditional chair lifts - some with windshields and many detachable, button/disc-pulls - and tow-ropes. There are both groomed slopes and backcountry (off-piste) skiing. The slopes' difficulty levels are particularly high. However, as in Tignes there are grand, easy pistes as well. It is first class off-piste country for powder addicts and there are many good guides available.
