Description

Chalet Marie, situated in the prestigious Val d'Isère, stands as one of the four distinct "sister" chalets, each named after the owner's daughters. Nestled in a serene and aesthetically pleasing street within the esteemed grounds of "Les Fermes de Val," this charming mountain chalet enjoys a prime location, affording convenient access to the town center on foot. Boasting five double/twin en-suite bedrooms, Chalet Marie accommodates up to 10 individuals, offering an idyllic setting for group gatherings of adults and families seeking a luxurious ski holiday experience.

The interior aesthetic of Chalet Marie can be aptly characterized as Alpine chic, an exquisite fusion of aged wood, natural stone, plush soft furnishings, and contemporary amenities curated to enhance the overall guest experience. Ascending a staircase, guests are welcomed into the open-plan living area on the top floor, featuring sumptuous sofas, a substantial wooden side table, and a dedicated entertainment wall housing a sizable flat-screen TV, a modest library stocked with books and games, perfect for post-dinner relaxation. The ambiance is further enriched by an open fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere, while expansive windows offer panoramic views of the surrounding valley and peaks, allowing natural daylight to illuminate the space.

The top-floor living area seamlessly incorporates a dining table, adorned with chic red chairs and modern pendant lamps, providing an inviting space for all meals, whether a nourishing breakfast before hitting the slopes or a delectable dinner following a day of skiing. Modern artworks tastefully accentuate the traditional charm of Chalet Marie. Access to a spacious balcony allows guests to bask in the fresh mountain air on sunlit days and unwind in serene surroundings. The fully equipped kitchen caters to culinary needs, enabling guests to cook or prepare snacks at their convenience.

The master bedroom, situated one floor below, epitomizes luxury with its ornate Moroccan wooden ceiling and an ensuite bathroom boasting a separate shower and bath. Two additional double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms along the corridor exude warmth through ample use of wood, while the fourth bedroom on the top floor, with its ensuite bathroom tucked under the eaves, radiates an authentic and cozy ambiance. The fifth double bedroom with bathroom is on the ground floor.

Chalet Marie's wellness sanctuary, located in the entrance area, features a steam room and an exquisite indoor pool equipped with a jet stream and a large arched window that offers breathtaking views. Ideal for pre-dinner laps or post-activity muscle relaxation, this wellness area enhances the overall well-being of guests amidst the stunning Val d'Isère landscape.

Additional conveniences include a seamlessly integrated lift connecting all levels, a dedicated ski room with boot warmers for equipment storage, and a spacious garage ensuring secure parking for guests. Chalet Marie promises a refined and indulgent retreat for those seeking an unparalleled Alpine experience.

Infos/Activities

Our luxury ski chalets in Val d'Isère are available catered and self-catered, for the best luxury ski holidays ever. Some are Ski in/Ski out and many have swimming pools, sauna, hammam and hot tubs. Val d'Isère is located only five kilometres from Italy, on the border of the Vanoise National Park, created in 1963.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISERE

The ski resort Val d'Isère in the Savoie region of France, is a colourful winter sports haven that began as a farm community in the years B.C. The town received parish rights in 1637 and the parish church, which is still a landmark in the town centre, was built in 1664.

The charming village finds its 1,800 residents outnumbered 15 to one by guests in winter. The western and central areas of Val d'Isère are most recognizable by their "chalet" architecture, while in the eastern part of the town high-rise architecture dominates the landscape.

Along with nearby purpose-built Tignes the area forms part of the Espace Killy, the self-titled "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". Named for Olympic hero Jean-Claude Killy, who grew up in Val d'Isère, Val is the better-known part of the skiing region and one of the best ski destinations in the French Alps.

The Val d'Isère village is long and thin at the bottom of a deep V-shaped valley. As you approach the resort you pass by Lac du Chevril, under which the old town of Tignes (sunk in 1952) is found. You then enter Val d'Isère via La Daille where the Olympic downhill run finishes. This is a very popular way for skiers to leave the mountain on Val d'Isère holidays, as it is directly below the greatest après ski party in France at Folie Douce. The ski down at closing time is riotous but only recommended for strong intermediates and above. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, as well as the usual winter fare.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISERE

The ski slopes themselves are equipped with a high-volume gondola, able to transport standing skiers, the funicular Funival from La Daille via a tunnel to the top of Bellevarde, traditional chair lifts - some with windshields and many detachable, button/disc-pulls - and tow-ropes. There are both groomed slopes and backcountry (off-piste) skiing. The slopes' difficulty levels are particularly high. However, as in Tignes there are grand, easy  pistes as well. It is first class off-piste country for powder addicts and there are many good guides available.
