Description

Four Twenty L’Elé is a masterpiece in architecture and design, having been transformed in 2017 from a tradition horse stable into a stunning, modern and luxury chalet. Floor-to-ceiling windows, industrial influenced features and designer fixtures and furnishings make this property a calm and beautiful place to enjoy your winter or summer holiday in Morzine.

The entrance level of the chalet is a large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area that is flooded with light and sunshine through the massive glass-fronted wall that looks out to the garden and Parc des Dérêches. The glass doors open onto a balcony that enjoys the sunshine throughout the day and into the evening. Also taking in this view is the sitting area that surrounds a wood-burning stove, plus a large dining table complete with rocking dining chairs! An iMac, iPad, GoPro and printer mean that you have everything you need to stay in touch whilst on holiday.

The kitchen is open to the living area, making it a sociable environment, and it has everything you need for a self-catered holiday. If you choose to hire a chef, they will also find everything they need to cater in the chalet. A laundry room is situated behind the kitchen with a separate washer and dryer. From the living room, an outdoor staircase leads you down to the garden where you can enjoy a soak in the hot tub looking out over the valley. Central to the living area is a stunning glass staircase that leads to the upper bedroom level.

Two bedrooms and a master suite are located on the top floor and all are en-suite. The master suite has a large king-sized bed and looks out over the living area, taking advantage of the glass-fronted wall and valley views. The bathroom has a beautiful freestanding bath from which these views can also be enjoyed. The original exposed beams are a feature of this open bedroom, so the room would not be suitable for children. A further two bedrooms can be configured as either twin or double rooms and both have en-suite shower rooms.

Infos/Activities

Morzine is set high in the valley of the River Dranse at an altitude of 1,000m in the Northern Alps. A beautiful Alpine village, Morzine has a bustling centre and is packed with great facilities. With fabulous restaurants and bars, a weekly market, ice rink, swimming pool and ski joering - all perfect for keeping the whole family entertained.

The skiing resort Morzine can be found between Lake Leman and Mont Blanc. Part of the vast Les Portes du Soleil ski area pittoresque Morzine has kept its 11th century Savoyard look where you will find traditional wooden luxury ski chalets with slate roofs which makes you feel like you are in a real Alpine village rather than a large man-made ski resort. Previously ruled over by the Dukes of Savoie it is now part of the Haute Savoie region of France.

Most of the ski resorts in Les Portes du Soleil have grown around traditional valley villages - only Avoriaz and the very small Les Crosets and Torgon were purposely built during the mid-sixties. Morzine and Châtel are the largest of the traditional towns in the area. As a whole the skiing is relatively low in altitude compared to most French destinations.

The highest skiing is just below 2,500 metres and the lowest approximately 900 metres. However, the area is heavily influenced by the microclimate between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, which generates very substantial snowfall between November and April making it possible to keep the area open to skiing typically from early December until mid to late April. Some of the lower stations close around April 1 or earlier depending on snow conditions though.
