Penthouse Christiania / Zermatt
Boasting breathtaking views of the iconic Matterhorn, the Christiania penthouse is the perfect base for a fantastic winter ski holiday.
This stunning penthouse apartment is one Zermatt’s most enviable properties. It’s prime location in the centre of town means it is just a stone’s throw from the bustling high street and only 500m from the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise which allows you direct access the main ski area.
Set over two floors, there are seven bedrooms in total. All the bedrooms have been designed with maximum comfort in mind and all have desks, TV’s and safes. They are all wonderfully spacious with large super king size beds or they can be split into twins. Most of the bedrooms have either a private or a shared terrace and some have comfy seating areas. There are five bedrooms with en-suite or private shower/bathrooms, whilst two of the bedrooms share a bathroom, and these bedrooms can be closed off from the rest of the floor if you wish to make a family suite. The master bedroom has incredible views of the Matterhorn, a wood burning fire place, en-suite bathroom, walk in wardrobe and spacious terrace. Moving upstairs you enter the extremely spacious and elegant open plan sitting and dining area. There is a lift which runs throughout the property and opens directly into the living area should you have guests visiting.
During the day, sunlight pours into the room through the huge floor to ceiling sliding doors which open out onto to the sun-drenched balcony. From the large balcony you can see the majestic Matterhorn standing proud.
In the evening, sophisticated lighting combined with the wonderful wood burning fireplace creates a wonderful cosy and relaxing atmosphere. It is the perfect space to socialize and entertain. The main dining table can sit up to 18 people, whilst the table can be extended to sit 24 if required.
The penthouse apartment also has a private sauna which is perfect for relaxing aching muscles after a long day on the mountain. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped and has a small breakfast bar, which provides the perfect spot for having a glass of wine whilst watching your chef prepare dinner. The views from the kitchen are fantastic, overlooking the town of Zermatt. Christiania Penthouse occupies the top two floors of the brand new Christiania residence. On the lower ground floor of the building there is a well-equipped gym with massage room and shower area. The ski room has private lockers for each apartment and there are heated boot warmers. A lift runs throughout the building.
The Christiania Penthouse can be taken alongside other apartments in the building to create the perfect corporate chalet in Zermatt. The dining table can sit up to 26 people if required.

From the moment you step off your Swiss-red train, and catch sight of the cobbled streets and horses with sleighs patiently waiting for their rides, you know you are in a special place. The most romantic of all resorts. What strikes everybody most often is the silence. There are no cars in Zermatt. This immediately creates a welcoming atmosphere. The air is fresh and alpine. But more than this, you immediately feel a part of the village.
It draws you in. Most everyone is on foot, locals and visitors alike. The main street bustles happily with pedestrians. There are no impersonal tour buses belching out noise, fumes, and package tourists. Zermatt is no auto through-route. The train stops here. All journeys on from here are on foot or ski. Everyone is here because they love mountains. Walking through the cobbled paths of town, between the ancient sunburnt barns and chalets, you catch your first glimpse of the Matterhorn and know you have come to the right place. Welcome to Zermatt... Zermatt, under the shadow of the Matterhorn, is one of Europe's best ski areas.
Linked to Cervinia, just over the border in Italy, Zermatt offers over 250km of pistes. Despite 71 lifts, there is often a bit of a queue to get up the mountain in the morning. Once there you will be spoiled for choice whatever your ability. Throw in a world class terrain park and pipe and you realize Zermatt is truly a top resort. Off the piste, Zermatt is traditional, slightly snobby and expensive. Nightlife is also very good.
