Description
Tucked into the snowy slopes of Aurach near Kitzbühel, Chalet Refugio is a place where alpine dreams take elegant form. Spanning 1,000 m² of refined living space, this exceptional retreat offers a rare blend of traditional Tyrolean charm and contemporary luxury – a sanctuary with eight bedrooms for up to sixteen guests, ideal for those seeking privacy, beauty, and effortless comfort in Austria’s most prestigious mountain resort.
Step inside and feel the pace of life slow. A private lift glides you effortlessly between levels, revealing spaces that soothe and inspire. The grand living area is a vision of warmth and wonder, where vaulted ceilings soar above a crackling fire, and deep, inviting sofas encourage long evenings with family and friends. It’s the kind of space that invites stories, laughter, and the slow unfolding of unforgettable moments.
Adjacent, the elegant dining room is a highlight - anchored by a long, rustic-luxe table where you can gather each evening to share tales of the day’s adventures on the slopes. As the fire flickers and glasses are filled, your private chef presents exquisite seasonal dishes, thoughtfully paired with fine wines from the chalet’s curated collection.
The kitchens cater to every whim - a professional chef’s kitchen for culinary artistry, and a guest kitchen for those casual morning coffees or late-night snacks, or for those who prefer a self-catered or Bed & Breakfast stay and wish to prepare their own meals. The chalet also boasts multiple balconies, terraces and a covered outdoor dining area on the terrace, perfect for alfresco meals. On warmer days, the balconies and expansive terrace invite you to bask in the sunshine, take in the panoramic views, or enjoy a pre-dinner drink under the stars.
The eight en-suite bedrooms are restful, indulgent spaces, each one uniquely styled with bespoke furnishings, soft alpine textures, and views that open onto snow-dusted trees or mountain silhouettes. The master suite is a chalet within the chalet - complete with its own lounge and fireplace, dressing area, and a spa-style bathroom that invites long, candlelit soaks. For those craving a little extra privacy, a separate guest house offers three more en-suite bedrooms and a chic lounge area - perfect for extended family, teenagers, or close friends.
As dusk falls and the mountains take on a dusky blue hue, the chalet’s private spa beckons. Take a gentle swim before dinner, unwind in the sauna, or let the jacuzzi bubble away any trace of tiredness - the perfect prelude to a gourmet evening. The spa area also includes a colour therapy plunge pool, a Japanese cold bath, a snow and ice crystal maker, a glass steam room, a bar equipped with an ice cube maker and sound system, and a serene relaxation area.
The garage can be effortlessly transformed into a stylish cinema room or an inviting space for hosting events. And when night falls and the stars come out, retreat to your private home cinema - where plush seating and immersive surround sound set the scene for cosy movie nights, complete with your favourite film.
Every detail at Chalet Refugio is designed to elevate your stay, and with a full team at your service - including a private chef and professional butler - your only task is to relax, indulge, and soak in the alpine magic.
Additionally, the chalet features a ski room with boot heaters and laundry facilities.
