Description

Chalet Acajuma is a charming and stylish alpine retreat in Val d’Isère. Situated on a picturesque and peaceful street, this exquisite property is just a short stroll from the vibrant heart of Val d’Isère, approximately a 10-minute walk from the Solaise and Bellevarde ski lifts, providing easy access to the expansive Val d’Isère-Tignes ski area. Spanning four floors, this spacious chalet accommodates up to twelve guests across five beautifully designed bedrooms.

The second floor is dedicated to unwinding in a spacious open-plan living and dining area with a fireplace, ideal for warming up after skiing. Large windows bring the outside in, and access to a terrace invites guests to catch the sun on warmer days with a cool drink or al fresco dining. Warm colours, plush sofas, and a television for evening entertainment are combined to create a wonderful space in the French Alps. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for a ski holiday.

The large dining table is perfect for bringing the family together for lively conversations and good food paired with wine. Modern sophistication combined with classic Savoyard architecture is the theme of this mountain retreat. Entering the first floor, you will find a television lounge with a large flat-screen smart TV, connected to the chalet’s free WiFi, allowing guests to log into their Netflix accounts. There are two sofa beds, offering additional sleeping arrangements.

This floor also houses one King-size double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and one King-size double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The third floor offers additional bedrooms with balcony access. The top floor of the chalet is dedicated to three further beautifully appointed bedrooms: one double/twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, one double/twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room and balcony access, and one double/twin bedroom with balcony access and a separate shower room and WC. All bedrooms offer a cosy night retreat and privacy for each guest.

The ground floor is dedicated to relaxation and practicality, ensuring guests can unwind after a day on the slopes in the wellness space with an indoor hot tub and sauna. There is also a separate WC. Further amenities include a ski and boot room with heated boot dryers, ensuring dry and toasty gear for the next day’s adventures, and laundry facilities.

Chalet Acajuma is set on Le Chemin du Petit Alaska, an idyllic hillside location offering a sense of seclusion while still being within easy reach of the resort’s amenities. The elevated position affords guests magnificent views over the surrounding mountains, creating a serene and picturesque backdrop. However, it’s worth noting that the narrow mountain road leading to the chalet can be steep and challenging to navigate, particularly in snowy conditions, and is less suited for those with mobility issues or pushchairs.

To enhance your skiing experience, a private shuttle service is included with your stay, providing convenient transport to and from the slopes. This service operates daily (except on arrival and departure days) between 08:30 – 10:00 in the morning and 16:00 – 18:00 in the afternoon, with a limit of two trips per chalet during each session.

With its enviable location, stylish interiors, luxurious wellness facilities, and thoughtful amenities, Chalet Acajuma offers an exceptional alpine retreat for families and friends looking to experience the magic of Val d’Isère in both comfort and style.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère’s charming village is a colorful winter sports haven, originally founded as a farming community centuries ago. Today, the village is home to around 1,800 residents, but during winter, this number swells to more than 30,000, thanks to the influx of skiers and visitors. The western and central parts of the village are easily recognizable for their classic chalet-style architecture, while the eastern part features modern high-rise buildings.

Historically significant, Val d'Isère received parish rights in 1637, and the parish church, built in 1664, remains a landmark at the heart of the village. Together with the nearby resort of Tignes, Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy, an area famously dubbed the "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". The resort is set at the base of a V-shaped valley and is accessible via La Daille, where you’ll pass by the Lac du Chevril. Beneath the lake lies the old town of Tignes, which was submerged in 1952 to create the new dam.

One of the highlights of a Val d'Isère ski holiday is the après-ski experience, particularly at Folie Douce. Located at the top of the ski slopes, it’s renowned for its vibrant après-ski parties. A ski down from the venue, directly into the village, is an exciting way to end your day, although it’s only suitable for strong intermediates and above due to its steepness.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère is a paradise for skiers of all levels, offering a mix of groomed slopes and backcountry skiing. The resort is known for its challenging slopes, making it a favorite among experienced skiers and powder addicts. For those seeking adventure off-piste, Val d'Isère provides plenty of untouched powder and has a number of ski guides available to show you the best routes.

Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy ski area, which links Val d'Isère and Tignes, offering over 300km of ski slopes. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, and the area is serviced by high-capacity gondolas, chairlifts, and even a funicular (the Funival), which takes you from La Daille to the top of Bellevarde.

Whether you’re looking for easy, wide pistes or steep, off-piste terrain, Val d'Isère caters to all types of skiers. The main lifts and gondolas offer convenient access to the area’s best slopes, and the ski area is equipped with four snow parks and extensive cross-country trails.

While Val d'Isère is renowned for its world-class skiing, the resort offers much more for visitors to enjoy throughout the year. In winter, indulge in a wide variety of non-skiing activities such as snowshoeing, dog sledding, and ice skating. The resort is also known for its winter hiking trails, providing a perfect opportunity to explore the beautiful mountain scenery at a slower pace.

Val d'Isère is a prime destination for those seeking wellness and relaxation after a day on the slopes. The resort has several spas and wellness centers, offering everything from massages to thermal baths, providing the ultimate way to unwind and recharge.

For families, Val d'Isère has a variety of family-friendly activities, including children's ski schools, tobogganing areas, and indoor play zones.
