Its 6 bedrooms - either doubles or twins - can easily accommodate up to 12 guests. Spread out over three floors ski chalet Thovex is perfect for a group or family vacation. Shops, restaurants, bars and Val Isère’s exciting night clubs are only a stone's throw away and the central lift hub can be reached easily on foot.

Recently refurbished in neutral tones with tasteful grey accents, pops of color and wacky touches like fluffy sheep footstools, the interior is nothing less than an invitation to linger, enjoy and unwind. The long open-plan sitting and dining room on the first floor has floor-to-ceiling windows running the length of this beautiful space - decked out combining contemporary style elements and cozy traditional Alpine décor.

Due to the fireplace the living area provides warmth throughout. Next to the dining area, hidden behind the modern log burner, the well-equipped kitchen is perfect to prepare mountain delicacies before gathering around the large dining table. The kitchen also has a breakfast bar seating two.

While reflecting on the day's experiences in the living rooms comfortable sofas and armchairs guests in winter holiday chalet Thovex can soak in views of ski resort Val d'Isère and the vast, snowy mountains beyond. To get the most of these unforgettable views a door leads to an enormous balcony that spans the width of Chalet Thovex.

After returning from the slopes or an afternoon walk exploring the splendid Espace Killy winter landscape guests in Chalet Thovex love to indulge in some relaxation time. To catch some end-of-day sun take a seat on the large outdoor terrace in front of the chalet where, in addition, you will also find the wooden outdoor hot tub to heal aching muscles. Indoors a sauna for further relaxation is available to use on the chalets top floor.

Ski chalet Thovex offers six bedrooms in total, sleeping a maximum of 12 guests. All bedrooms can be configured as double or twin rooms making Thovex an ideal choice for groups. Effortlessly blending modern and traditional furnishings, the bedrooms - which all come with their own tiled en-suite bathrooms - are inviting spaces to retreat to at the end of the day.

A further bonus when staying at Chalet Thovex is the private ski room, ideal for storage of equipment on return from skiing.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISERE

The ski resort Val d'Isère in the Savoie region of France, is a colourful winter sports haven that began as a farm community in the years B.C. The town received parish rights in 1637 and the parish church, which is still a landmark in the town centre, was built in 1664.

The charming village finds its 1,800 residents outnumbered 15 to one by guests in winter. The western and central areas of Val d'Isère are most recognizable by their "chalet" architecture, while in the eastern part of the town high-rise architecture dominates the landscape.

Along with nearby purpose-built Tignes the area forms part of the Espace Killy, the self-titled "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". Named for Olympic hero Jean-Claude Killy, who grew up in Val d'Isère, Val is the better-known part of the skiing region and one of the best ski destinations in the French Alps.

The Val d'Isère village is long and thin at the bottom of a deep V-shaped valley. As you approach the resort you pass by Lac du Chevril, under which the old town of Tignes (sunk in 1952) is found. You then enter Val d'Isère via La Daille where the Olympic downhill run finishes. This is a very popular way for skiers to leave the mountain on Val d'Isère holidays, as it is directly below the greatest après ski party in France at Folie Douce. The ski down at closing time is riotous but only recommended for strong intermediates and above. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, as well as the usual winter fare.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISERE

The ski slopes themselves are equipped with a high-volume gondola, able to transport standing skiers, the funicular Funival from La Daille via a tunnel to the top of Bellevarde, traditional chair lifts - some with windshields and many detachable, button/disc-pulls - and tow-ropes. There are both groomed slopes and backcountry (off-piste) skiing. The slopes' difficulty levels are particularly high. However, as in Tignes there are grand, easy  pistes as well. It is first class off-piste country for powder addicts and there are many good guides available.
