Catered Chalet

Yellowstone Ski Lodge is both a luxury chalet with six en-suite rooms. You can walk straight onto some of the world’s finest ski slopes, in Sainte Foy, between Val d'Isère and Les Arcs, the jewels in the crown of the enormous Espace Killy ski area. The lodge offers a super luxurious Jacuzzi/swim spa to relax under the alpine stars with stunning views.

Slope access to this winter sports paradise is number one at Yellowstone, making it one of the most exclusive properties in Saint Foy. The Lodge sleeps 12 adults and 3 children. Before and after a day in boots and googles though, Yellowstone delivers a sophisticated, up-to-date and traditional guest experience that is both luxurious and laid back. Alpine design is already close to perfect.

It suits the surroundings and makes the most of rugged stone and beautiful wood from the local landscape to produce a super-comfortable and welcoming interior. The open-plan main space with open fires, and woolen sofas opens onto a terrace, where a blossoming tree brings a touch of a Japanese garden to beautiful Alpine views. This is a space to share with friends and family, and dining is at a table that is made to bring people together.

Sleeping accommodation is in six bedrooms, all en-suite and all individually styled. Where Yellowstone is beautifully traditional, it is also strikingly individual and delivers its comfort with a dash of French panache, with splashes of bright color and nicely chosen art works. All of the bedrooms are great places to spend time. Flat screen TVs, iPod docking stations are there to entertain you. A deep, luxurious bath is the perfect way to end a day on the slopes, though an outdoor Jacuzzi is more social and – perhaps – has better views. To really work the kinks out of your muscles head to the hamam or order in a massage treatment. A state-of-the-art gym from Kinesis will keep the blood flowing.

The Ranch can be rented additionally (16 + 7 guests)

The skiing of Sainte Foy is untouchable. The village is also quiet and exclusive – there are just four chalets here. There are bars and restaurants easily at hand, but the brighter lights of Val d'Isère and the rest of the resorts that serve the Espace Killy (Tignes, Les Arcs, etc.) are all within a few minutes’ drive by private car. The powder fields of the Italian Alps are just as accessible by air from the heli pad just outside the chalet.

Sainte Foy is a wonderful place for families and groups to enjoy a skiing holiday. There’s an excellent ski school for young visitors, and the resort has a reputation as a place for people who go on a skiing holiday primarily to ski, particularly if they love powder snow, and secluded woodland trails.

Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise is a village in the Tarentaise Valley in Savoie, France. The old village lies on the main road between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Val-d'Isère. About 4 km above the village is the ski resort of Sainte Foy (referred as Sainte Foy Station). It is a small resort with four chairlifts, 15 slopes and some lovely luxury ski chalets. Sainte Foy has groomed pistes which are often very quiet, but it is more famous for the off-piste skiing and snowboarding.

Sainte-Foy village is a Savoie style village, built from stone and wood. It has remained unspoiled compared to many mountain villages and ski areas in France. The village centres on a cluster of bars and restaurants. There is accommodation in the main village including luxury hotels and chalets. There are chalets offering accommodation in the satellite villages of La Masure and Le Miroir. The ski resort sits high above the village at 1550m above sea level.

The resort was built in an old farming hamlet, some of which survives as chalet accommodation. Most of the village has been built recently, but in a sympathetic style using wood and stone. There are also luxury apartments. There are two spas in the resort, both with swimming pools, jacuzzis, and saunas, as well as massage and beauty treatments. The village has five ski shops, two bars, three restaurants and a small supermarket.

The mountain has four chairlifts and two magic carpets for beginners. There is a vertical drop of just over 1000 m from the highest point at the Col de l'Aiguille (2620 m). There are around 20 pistes, with a choice for all ability levels. A green trail snakes through the trees back down to the resort while the new Grande Soliet run down from the Marquise chairlift offers a long, wide, swooping blue-grade trail. Red runs vary from the roller-coaster of Les Creux de Formeian to tight, steep challenges. There is one groomed black run but another three marked off-piste areas, also graded black.

While the on-piste skiing is excellent for beginners and confirmed skiers, the resort is also known for the off-piste terrain. This varies from short runs between the trails to legendary descents such as the easy tour to the village of Le Monal or the fearsome north face of La Fogliettaz.
