Description

One of Val's most stylish chalets, combining Alpine tradition with Moroccan decor and contemporary touches. Wonderful architecture combined with avant-garde interior décor and furnishings mean that this chalet oozes character and class. Among the finest chalets in Val d'Isère, Chalet Alice occupies the position at the top of the road guaranteeing complete privacy and, being slightly elevated, this magnificent luxury ski chalet has great views over the Isère valley. Despite being close to the centre of the village, Chalet Alice's secluded location guarantees peace and quiet, yet the main lift station takes  less than 10 minutes to walk. The ground floor exemplifies the modern luxury chalet and is a real playground.

The indoor swimming pool with jet stream and hammam are ideal for relaxing after a long day skiing and if the weather is bad, you may be tempted to not even leave the comfort of the chalet! There is also a TV room with a games console and satellite channels where you can watch a film in peace or where children can play to their hearts' content. The spacious ski room is equipped with boot-warmers. On the first floor, three of the en-suite bedrooms perfectly combine the Alpine rusticity of heavy antique wooden beams with ultra modern touches such as washbowl basins and chrome towel rails and are finished with super-stylish furniture.

Upstairs, the large master suite occupies the whole top floor and offers the party leader intimacy and Alpine chalet authenticity. The living space is double height with huge windows making the most of the valley views and the open fireplace and large south facing terrace mean that you need never lack for warmth whatever the weather. The unique slate dining table is the perfect place to experience our famous hospitality and mouthwatering cuisine, while enjoying quality time in the company of friends and family. This luxury chalet is a great place for a skiing holiday for families of two or three generations but perhaps even better for parties of friends.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère’s charming village is a colorful winter sports haven, originally founded as a farming community centuries ago. Today, the village is home to around 1,800 residents, but during winter, this number swells to more than 30,000, thanks to the influx of skiers and visitors. The western and central parts of the village are easily recognizable for their classic chalet-style architecture, while the eastern part features modern high-rise buildings.

Historically significant, Val d'Isère received parish rights in 1637, and the parish church, built in 1664, remains a landmark at the heart of the village. Together with the nearby resort of Tignes, Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy, an area famously dubbed the "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". The resort is set at the base of a V-shaped valley and is accessible via La Daille, where you’ll pass by the Lac du Chevril. Beneath the lake lies the old town of Tignes, which was submerged in 1952 to create the new dam.

One of the highlights of a Val d'Isère ski holiday is the après-ski experience, particularly at Folie Douce. Located at the top of the ski slopes, it’s renowned for its vibrant après-ski parties. A ski down from the venue, directly into the village, is an exciting way to end your day, although it’s only suitable for strong intermediates and above due to its steepness.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère is a paradise for skiers of all levels, offering a mix of groomed slopes and backcountry skiing. The resort is known for its challenging slopes, making it a favorite among experienced skiers and powder addicts. For those seeking adventure off-piste, Val d'Isère provides plenty of untouched powder and has a number of ski guides available to show you the best routes.

Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy ski area, which links Val d'Isère and Tignes, offering over 300km of ski slopes. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, and the area is serviced by high-capacity gondolas, chairlifts, and even a funicular (the Funival), which takes you from La Daille to the top of Bellevarde.

Whether you’re looking for easy, wide pistes or steep, off-piste terrain, Val d'Isère caters to all types of skiers. The main lifts and gondolas offer convenient access to the area’s best slopes, and the ski area is equipped with four snow parks and extensive cross-country trails.

RESTAURANTS & BARS IN VAL D'ISÈRE

For a more casual dining experience, Le Chalet de la Daille is a popular spot for skiers to grab a hearty lunch or dinner, offering a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. For après-ski, La Folie Douce is the place to be, combining high-energy music, drinks, and dancing for a memorable experience.

In the heart of the village, Café de la Place is a lively bar with great cocktails, perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Whether you’re after a gourmet meal, a lively après-ski, or a cozy evening with friends, Val d'Isère’s restaurants and bars offer something for every mood.

THINGS TO DO IN VAL D'ISÈRE

While Val d'Isère is renowned for its world-class skiing, the resort offers much more for visitors to enjoy throughout the year. In winter, indulge in a wide variety of non-skiing activities such as snowshoeing, dog sledding, and ice skating. The resort is also known for its winter hiking trails, providing a perfect opportunity to explore the beautiful mountain scenery at a slower pace.

Val d'Isère is a prime destination for those seeking wellness and relaxation after a day on the slopes. The resort has several spas and wellness centers, offering everything from massages to thermal baths, providing the ultimate way to unwind and recharge.

For families, Val d'Isère has a variety of family-friendly activities, including children's ski schools, tobogganing areas, and indoor play zones. In summer, the resort transforms into an outdoor playground, offering a range of activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and rock climbing. The Val d'Isère Festival also takes place during the summer months, bringing world-class music performances to the mountains.
