Description

Fully Catered Catered

Pierre de Compia is a beautifully appointed luxury ski chalet for eight people situated in Val d’Isère. Located in Le Crêt, the sunniest part of the valley, the chalet benefits from enviable south and westerly views. Exposed beams, high ceilings and a stone fireplace create a spacious contemporary living space perfect for groups or families. Four luxury en-suite bedrooms are situated on the quiet lower level ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. A relaxing spa hot tub is situated on an outdoor deck. A spacious property, Pierre de Compia works well for two families or equally groups of friends. Can be combined with her sister chalet La Bouclia to accommodate 16 people.

Le Crêt is one of the most charming and romantic areas of Val d'Isère; it proudly sits at the entrance to the resort and consists of a group of exclusive residences and chalets. It is widely recognised as the sunniest part of the village due to its south and west facing aspect but also because it sits on a small hill above the valley floor. Chalet Pierre de Compia sits beautifully alongside her sister chalet La Bouclia and was completed in 2006 by the renowned Remondet family. Access to the chalet is via a private road and on approaching the chalet a quiet enclave opens to reveal the property. Fortunately this property can combine good access to the slopes with quietness and exclusivity.

Due to its flexible location, the options for starting and finishing spots are greater than most places in the resort. It's just a seven minute walk from the town centre or a swift two minutes in the complementary 4x4 chauffeur service. Pierre de Compia benefits from the sun and receives abundant amounts of light throughout the day into its wonderful living space. Combined with the huge annual snowfall into resort, the chalet really places itself well as a romantic and intimate place to enjoy a mountain stay. The chalet is thoughtfully set out across three levels.

A ski and boot room level, the main sleeping floor and across the highest floor, an open plan living dining space. The main entrance is often deep with snow during the winter months and the wood for the open fire sits outside the chalet to welcome you in. On the ground floor, four spacious ensuite bedrooms fan out from the oak floored landing. Each room has its own carefully thought through design and colour. All rooms can be configured as either kings or twin beds and three benefit from deep bathtubs. The fourth, and largest, has a walk-in shower. Three of the bedrooms have large picture windows and terrace doors that open onto the outdoor deck where the hot tub is for exclusive use of the Pierre de Compia guests.

Ascending to the upper level unveils charcoal grey stone flooring with white walls and large reclaimed timber beams in a double height living space. The Solaise and Bellevarde mountains tower around the open plan space and the feeling of Vanoise national park seeps into the room. The changing weather of the valley constantly refreshes the picture and atmosphere created in this space. A central open fire gives warmth and a cozy mountain feel to this contemporary area and supper is served in a pared back minimalist space. There is also a small snug which is where the TV is located, perfect for children's movies. Pierre de Compia's location and thoughtfulness works perfectly for families or groups of friends equally.

The chalet is fully serviced. The professional chefs are some of the finest in the industry and many have a background of delivering to the highest standards on super yachts and michelin-starred restaurants. They will contact you before arrival to discuss your menus for the week. There is also an In-house host who provides an exceptional concierge service and housekeeping to help you with the booking of ski tuition, guides, equipment or help with restaurant reservations. The chalet comes with access to our 4x4 Landrover driving service and chauffeur, who also doubles as our "go to" person for snow and weather updates and lift openings.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère’s charming village is a colorful winter sports haven, originally founded as a farming community centuries ago. Today, the village is home to around 1,800 residents, but during winter, this number swells to more than 30,000, thanks to the influx of skiers and visitors. The western and central parts of the village are easily recognizable for their classic chalet-style architecture, while the eastern part features modern high-rise buildings.

Historically significant, Val d'Isère received parish rights in 1637, and the parish church, built in 1664, remains a landmark at the heart of the village. Together with the nearby resort of Tignes, Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy, an area famously dubbed the "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". The resort is set at the base of a V-shaped valley and is accessible via La Daille, where you’ll pass by the Lac du Chevril. Beneath the lake lies the old town of Tignes, which was submerged in 1952 to create the new dam.

One of the highlights of a Val d'Isère ski holiday is the après-ski experience, particularly at Folie Douce. Located at the top of the ski slopes, it’s renowned for its vibrant après-ski parties. A ski down from the venue, directly into the village, is an exciting way to end your day, although it’s only suitable for strong intermediates and above due to its steepness.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère is a paradise for skiers of all levels, offering a mix of groomed slopes and backcountry skiing. The resort is known for its challenging slopes, making it a favorite among experienced skiers and powder addicts. Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy ski area, which links Val d'Isère and Tignes, offering over 300km of ski slopes. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, and the area is serviced by high-capacity gondolas, chairlifts, and even a funicular (the Funival), which takes you from La Daille to the top of Bellevarde.

Whether you’re looking for easy, wide pistes or steep, off-piste terrain, Val d'Isère caters to all types of skiers. The main lifts and gondolas offer convenient access to the area’s best slopes, and the ski area is equipped with four snow parks and extensive cross-country trails.
