Description

The luxury family chalet Vanoise in Val d'Isère is unique, it is a mixture of contemporary grey local stone and large sections of mountain larch wood walls, paired with rococo mirrors and Parisian chic. Chalet Vanoise is situated on the edge of the larch forest in the highest hamlet of Le Fornet, at an altitude of 1950m, with easy access to the best snow conditions of the ski area. The chalet can accommodate up to 14 people in five spacious and modern bedrooms. It extends over four floors and has 250sqm of living space. Chalet Vanoise has wonderfully spacious living and dining areas and is offered as a bed and breakfast for groups who want a little more flexibility during their stay.

The main entrance is on the ground floor where you will find a heated ski room for the chalet with good storage and boot warmers. There are also two covered parking spaces, a rarity in the valley. If you need more, there is a large garage, so just ask before you leave. A curved staircase leads through all floors of the chalet and takes you first to the living and dining area. An open plan kitchen with induction hobs is situated next to a large table made of old wood which can seat 14 people for dinner. There is an open fireplace, surrounded by seating, overlooking the east-facing deck and capturing the morning sun in spring. There is also a large flat screen TV with two sofas, ideal for lying down and watching TV or a movie.

The bedrooms are furnished in the style of a large family home. On the second floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. In one of the bedrooms there are bunk beds made of old wood in adult size and a unique queen size bunk bed, which is perfect for children. The other two bedrooms have fixed beds in king-size. On the top floor you will have a better view of the mountains and find a large master suite with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom and a slightly smaller, fixed king en-suite room with a large terrace overlooking the main village to the west.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère’s charming village is a colorful winter sports haven, originally founded as a farming community centuries ago. Today, the village is home to around 1,800 residents, but during winter, this number swells to more than 30,000, thanks to the influx of skiers and visitors. The western and central parts of the village are easily recognizable for their classic chalet-style architecture, while the eastern part features modern high-rise buildings.

Historically significant, Val d'Isère received parish rights in 1637, and the parish church, built in 1664, remains a landmark at the heart of the village. Together with the nearby resort of Tignes, Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy, an area famously dubbed the "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". The resort is set at the base of a V-shaped valley and is accessible via La Daille, where you’ll pass by the Lac du Chevril. Beneath the lake lies the old town of Tignes, which was submerged in 1952 to create the new dam.

One of the highlights of a Val d'Isère ski holiday is the après-ski experience, particularly at Folie Douce. Located at the top of the ski slopes, it’s renowned for its vibrant après-ski parties. A ski down from the venue, directly into the village, is an exciting way to end your day, although it’s only suitable for strong intermediates and above due to its steepness.

SKIING IN VAL D'ISÈRE

Val d'Isère is a paradise for skiers of all levels, offering a mix of groomed slopes and backcountry skiing. Val d'Isère is part of the Espace Killy ski area, which links Val d'Isère and Tignes, offering over 300km of ski slopes. The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, and the area is serviced by high-capacity gondolas, chairlifts, and even a funicular (the Funival), which takes you from La Daille to the top of Bellevarde.

Whether you’re looking for easy, wide pistes or steep, off-piste terrain, Val d'Isère caters to all types of skiers. The main lifts and gondolas offer convenient access to the area’s best slopes, and the ski area is equipped with four snow parks and extensive cross-country trails.
