Heinz Julen is the man behind this fantastic property, now available through Finest Holidays. Heinz was born and bred in Zermatt, owing his name to the man behind the world’s favorite ketchup, who was a visitor to Heinz’s father’s restaurant. Julens junior has won a fantastic reputation for his art, architecture and design.

The incredible “see through” Backstage Hotel is a wonderful example of his work and this loft is a part of that project, carrying Julens’ design philosophy to new heights of style and luxury. The Loft is a stand-alone property in a quiet area of this wonderful Alpine resort, with super-fast access to the cable cars that take skiers to the 350 km of pistes that make Zermatt Switzerland’s best-loved Alpine resort. The Matterhorn, always in site thanks to a car-free policy in the town, is just one of 38 summits over 4,000 metres that help make this a true mountain paradise.

The Backstage Luxury Loft though is such a stylish, welcoming and comfortable space that you may well be tempted to spend your nights in, relaxing around the wood-burning stove. It’s completely furnished with Heinz Julens-designed furniture and fittings. A very modern take on classic Alpine style– stark straight lines and large glass panels meet beautiful wood and aged stone.

The 5-bedroom (all doubles, two in an “authentic” chalet) Loft is 500m² of pure luxury, with a host, cook and maids to make your stay really special, serving champagne to start each evening. The Loft boasts a home cinema and incredible walk-in bath. But as part of the Backstage empire you’ll enjoy access to the hotel’s facilities too. That includes a wonderful wellness facility themed around the Book of Genesis. The dining is of an incredible quality too, with the After Seven restaurant offering a culinary journey courtesy of the internationally-renowned chef Ivo Adams. The Café du Theatre is Julens’ homage to the Belle Époque and perfectly evokes the luxury, style and indulgence of Paris at the birth of the 20^thcentury.
