Verbier has enough star quality to light up the sky all winter. The Danish and Belgium Royals love sliding down these slopes for years, and rock star James Blunt liked it so much that he set up a restaurant here.

Its attractions are easy to see. It’s the main watering hole for the 4 Valleys, a massive ski area with over 400km of pistes. Its off-piste runs are said to be the best in the Alps. There is high quality skiing for skiers of all levels, from children toddling slowly down the nursery slopes to confirmed adrenaline junkies and extreme sports fans – it’s home to, Xtreme Verbier, the spectacular finale of the Freeride World Tour among other world-class events.

The altitude means good snow coverage throughout the season. You can ski at close to 3,000m with a lift ride of little more than 10 minutes.

Chalet Toundra fits beautifully in this stunning resort. It’s very modern, but preserves the best traditions of Alpine chalet architecture with an open fire, stone and wood and the must-have mountain-view terrace. The bedrooms include an en-suite super-king room with shower room. A bunk room is the perfect holiday hideout for kids.
